For the integrative assignment for the Neuroscience Learning Community, I was assigned to a group of three to give a presentation to the rest of the class on an assigned mental illness. For my Honors contract, I conducted additional research on the mental illness to explore the most up-to-date findings on its underlying neurobiology. I used databases, such as PubMed and Google Scholar, to locate appropriate scientific journal articles. I annotated a minimum of three to five articles published in the past three years over the mental illness I was assigned. I presented the most pertinent information on one to two PowerPoint slides during the group presentation in my biology recitation. l also wrote a three-to-five-page paper summarizing and integrating the findings. This additional assignment that is composed of a research paper and an added presentation, helped me as a neuroscience major go more in depth in a topic related to my major.
